available at a slight premium, please contact us for a price quote.
Spent Mushroom Compost. One of the best types of
soil conditioner available. Used extensively by local farmers to increase crop
yields, this product is a great improvement over other manures in that it has
no unpleasant smell and is quite pleasant to handle. It can also be used as a
mulch to help keep down weeds. It comes in sacks containing approximately 70
litres. We can also supply bulk loads equivalent to 30 sacks or 40 sacks.
Please telephone for details.

Blood, fish and bone. A popular organic
fertilizer used primarily in the vegetable garden but equally useful in the flower
garden. Best applied in the spring and gently worked into the top few inches of
the soil. We sell this in one-kilogram bags for 80 pence.
Bone meal. Another popular organic fertilizer that is best
applied in the spring as it does need the warmth to break down and release the
nutrients it contains. Sold in one-kilogram bags for 90 pence.
Growmore
Granules. A
general-purpose inorganic fertilizer containing a balanced level of nutrients.
Less expensive than the above two fertilizers this is a very good all round
fertilizer especially for flowering plants. It can also be used sparingly on
lawns to green up tired looking grass in late summer. Sold in one-kilogram bags
for 70 pence.
Horticultural Perlite. A sterile compound with many uses. It can be
mixed with compost to improve drainage and aeration especially for cuttings and
seeds. It can also be used to cover delicate seeds that need light for
germination or where the compost may prove too heavy. £1.25 for 5 litre bags.
Bamboo Canes. Bamboo
canes are available in two sizes: 3’6” and 4’. Both come in packs of 10 for 80p
and £1.00 per pack respectively. Green split cane “pea sticks” are available in
packs of 25 and are priced at 50p per pack for 18” sticks and 80p per pack for
24” sticks.
All above prices are for collection from the nursery.
